Bitfarms recently announced an agreement to build a power plant with a capacity of up to 120 MW in Sharon, Pennsylvania, and to lease a location for this purpose. The company also expects its power capacity for 2025 to reach 648 megawatts, marking a significant increase from its current and targeted capacities for the coming years. Following an acquisition of an additional 100 MW in Paraguay, Bitfarms projects a 2025 guidance of over 35 EH/s.
In response, Riot Platforms issued a statement on Jun. 12 expressing concerns that Bitfarms’ actions go against established legal and governance norms.
