New York City Woman Sentenced to 18 Years in Prison for Funding Terrorism with Bitcoin

The district attorney Alvin Bragg announced that Jacobs was convicted of multiple charges, including three felony counts for providing support for an act of terrorism. Additionally, she was found guilty of conspiracy, money laundering, and criminal possession of a weapon.

Prosecutors revealed that Jacobs identified herself as a “brother” on an online forum, operating “behind enemy lines,” and sought prayers for the “courage, strength, guidance, and wisdom to carry out certain missions.” From her Manhattan apartment, she facilitated the access of these groups to the city’s financial markets, furthering their mission.
