Space and Time (SxT) has introduced its custom-built compute layer, providing public access to its sub-second zero-knowledge (ZK) prover stack, called Proof of SQL. This ZK-proof system was previously available to a select group of SxT clients in alpha last August.<\/p>\n
ZK provers were developed to address privacy concerns, a crucial aspect of cryptographic technology. The core concept of ZK models allows users to demonstrate the validity or truth of data or transactions without revealing additional information.<\/p>\n
This technology is considered essential for ensuring secure on-chain interactions for smart contract protocols and end-users, although it has been known to slow down execution at times. SxT co-founder and head of research Jay White, PhD, explained that the Proof of SQL program was developed so that smart contracts and AI agents could query a chain’s activity and off-chain data and receive trustless SQL query results on-chain during a transaction without waiting for long proof times.<\/p>\n
The web3 data warehouse stated that its Proof of SQL offers a better-optimized processing architecture for large-scale operations compared to generalized zk-Virtual Machines and co-processors.
