Sonic recently announced a significant milestone, revealing that its network had registered over 100,000 unique wallets and processed more than 17 million transactions within a week of its Sonic Testnet Odyssey launch. The team expressed that this achievement is indicative of the substantial demand and potential of the Sonic protocol.
Additionally, they stated that the funds raised, totaling $16 million, would be utilized to further expand the Solana gaming ecosystem. The plan is to provide grants to projects and onboard new games and developers to the Solana network.
This expansion includes customizable gaming primitives and a sandbox environment, leveraging Solana’s fast network for an enhanced on-chain video game experience for users. In the coming years, Sonic aims to elevate the Solana gaming ecosystem to the level of, or even beyond, other segments such as DeFi, NFTs, and SocialFi.
It also forecasts meme coins to constitute a substantial portion of user activity on Solana by 2024.
