Additionally, the Samourai’s Wallet website, which is hosted in Iceland, was seized, and an appeal was made to the Google Play Store to remove the application. The Department of Justice (DOJ) stated that the creators of Samourai’s Wallet advertised the platform as being focused on censorship resistance and involvement in illegal economic activities, providing a haven for criminals to engage in covert operations.
Evidence, including private messages and social media posts associated with Hill, was used to support the claim that Samourai’s creators were aware of and even encouraged criminal use of the tool in certain cases.
