Ava Labs CEO states Avalanche was not marketed as an ETH killer, Token2024 reports

During the Token2049 conference, Emin Gün Sirer addressed the misconception surrounding Avalanche’s relationship with Ethereum. He emphasized that Avalanche was never positioned as an Ethereum killer and had always been complementary to Ethereum, contrary to a marketing phrase used by some individuals at Consensys to elevate Ethereum. Sirer acknowledged Ethereum’s significance in the blockchain ecosystem but highlighted Avalanche’s unique capability to deploy independent blockchains with different rules.

He mentioned that this was a feature that Ethereum fundamentally lacked, as it operates as a single-chain system compared to Avalanche’s multi-chain system. According to Sirer, Avalanche is able to perform a wider range of functions that Ethereum cannot, with a crucial distinction being its ability to enable others to launch their own blockchains based on their specific rules.
